Frequently asked questions

Do I need to travel to Switzerland?

No. We deal with the seller, inspect the car, pay and handle the export for you. You decide from home based on our photos, video and notes.

Which websites can I send listings from?

Any Swiss source: AutoScout24, CarForYou, Comparis, tutti.ch, Ricardo, dealer websites or a private ad. Just send us the link.

Can you buy from private sellers?

Yes. We buy from dealers, independent garages and private sellers. Private cars are sold as seen, so we recommend the inspection in every case.

Can you find a car for me?

Yes. Tell us the model, year, budget and the options you need, and we search the Swiss market and send you suitable listings.

How does payment work?

The payment steps are written in your quote before you commit. The car is paid to the seller only after you have approved our inspection. You never send money to a private seller yourself.

Do I pay Swiss VAT?

Normally not. When a VAT-registered dealer sells a car for export, Swiss VAT of 8.1% is not charged or is refunded once the export is confirmed. Private sellers do not charge VAT at all.

Which taxes do I pay in my country?

Import taxes depend on your country. In the EU, import VAT is due at your national rate and customs duty is usually 0% or 10% depending on the car’s proof of origin; some countries add a registration tax. Outside the EU, rules vary widely. We tell you what to expect before you buy.

How long does delivery take?

It depends on the seller, the paperwork and the route. Driving within Europe is usually the fastest; sea freight takes several weeks. Your quote includes an estimated timeline.

Which documents do I receive?

The Swiss registration certificate cancelled for export, the purchase contract or invoice, the export customs declaration, the service history and all keys. A Certificate of Conformity (CoC) when the car has one or the manufacturer can issue it.

Can the car be registered in my country?

Most Swiss cars can be registered across Europe, but some countries restrict the age, emission standard or steering side of imported cars. We check the rules for your listing before you commit.

Is the car insured during delivery?

Yes. We arrange insurance for the drive or the transport. The cover is described in your quote.

What if the car is not as described?

Then we tell you before anything is bought. You can ask us to negotiate, choose another car or stop.

Do you work with dealers and traders?

Yes. We also buy for dealers and traders abroad, including regular orders. Contact us to discuss volumes.

Do you deliver to the UK and Ireland?

Yes, by driving with a ferry crossing or by car transporter. Swiss cars are left-hand drive; they can be registered there, but think about how you will use the car day to day.
