Attractive cars at low prices attract scammers. Buyers abroad are a common target, because they cannot easily see the car.
Warning signs
- A price far below the market, with a story: moving abroad, divorce, inheritance
- The seller cannot meet and asks for a deposit to reserve the car
- Payment by money transfer services, gift cards or crypto
- A shipping or escrow company you have never heard of, suggested by the seller
- Photos that also appear in other listings
- Pressure to decide quickly
How to stay safe
- Never pay a deposit for a car nobody has seen
- Have the car and the seller’s identity checked on site
- Compare the chassis number with the registration certificate
- Pay through a traceable business account
How we work
We see every car and meet every seller before anything is paid. If something does not add up, we tell you.
